Industry insider tips - *Fujitsu stopped manufacturing 3.5-inch MO Drives in 2005, therefore this is no such thing as a new Fujitsu magneto optical drive. The Konica Minolta and Maxoptix 1.3gb external USB pocket drives are the only new, 1 year warranty 3.5" optical drives available today. Beware of "new" fujitsu drives as they will have no manufacturer warranty.

**Most websites selling new Sony 5.25-inch MO drives are in fact selling drives manufactured more than 15 months ago, which means the drives have no warranty through Sony. Check the date of manufacture on your drive, any drives manufactured before December 2007 are completely out of warranty.
